The new High Volume Pressure department will produce thousands pressure sensors each month.
As one of the leading bespoke industrial sensor manufacturers in the UK, our production facilities were setup to build unique sensors in volumes of typically one to ten. However, in recent years not only has the number of Applied Measurement customers increase significantly but so to has the diversity of our customer base. This has included a number of new customers who require thousands of the same bespoke sensor. These sensors are typically required in large numbers to cover large geographical areas or complex operations.
Applied Measurements Commercial Director, Darren Skipp, had this to say about the new High Volume Pressure Sensor department. ‘Today is an exciting day in the growth of Applied Measurements. This new production facility will plug a gap in the sensor market where monthly production figures in the low thousands are of little interest to large volume sensor manufacturers based in South East Asia, but are also beyond the manufacturing capacity of small bespoke sensor manufacturers here in the UK.’

A focus on staff wellbeing
The other aspect of this new production department is of course the skilled engineers who will be assembling these sensors in a production line format. Applied Measurements Technical Sales Director, Ollie Morcom addressed this point directly, by saying ‘Not only have we recently recruited a number of talented production staff, but we have taken care not to burden any one individual with excessive repetition in their daily tasks. Instead there will be a ‘crop-rotation’ of personnel on the production line floor that will ensure both the continued wellbeing of our employees and that the output quality remains consistent with our customers expectations.’
