We wanted to see why our customers buy the TRX Strain Gauge Sensor Display and what they use it for. Prescott Instruments Ltd is one such customer. Located near Tewkesbury, they use the TRX to provide a value-added customer calibration service.

The Prescott Instruments ‘Auto Load RHEO-LINE Multi-Function’ material testing machine is an engineering masterpiece. It takes in a rubber material sample and compresses it between two hot plates. With the rubber sample remaining compressed, the bottom plates slowly rotates back and forth, thus subjecting the sample to various torque forces while the rubber cures at a high temperature.

UKAS Traceable Calibration of Load & Force to 1800kN Now Available

We have now completed the building of a new force and load calibration machine, capable of measuring up to 1800kN in compression and tension using a reference standard load cell traceable to the National Physical Laboratory. Our facilities now include the capability, with three separate test machines, plus dead weights to offer UKAS traceable calibration in tension and compression from 5N to 1800kN. We offer either a UKAS traceable calibration service or the equipment may be hired for customers wishing to carry out their own calibrations.
